In an Arabic-language appeal broadcast on radio, the coalition urged the population to "inform (it) of the location of weapons, munitions, unexploded mines so it can transport and get rid of them safely."
Teams with the proper equipment have been formed to facilitate this, the appeal said, warning Iraqis that unexploded ordnance "puts your life in danger."
In a separate radio announcement, US Central Command announced that Iraqi policemen, firefighters and first-aid workers will now be allowed to work during the nightly 11:00 pm-4:30 am (1900-0030 GMT) curfew imposed in Baghdad after the ouster of Saddam Hussein's regime on April 9.
Travel during the curfew will also include individuals who need medical care as well as officials in vital public services.
