Pentagon says it has no information "Comical Ali" captured

 The Pentagon said Wednesday it had no confirmation that Iraq's former information minister, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, had been captured in Baghdad.

The Daily Mirror of London said Wednesday that Sahaf, whose wildly inaccurate claims during the war earned him the nicknames "Comical Ali" and "Baghdad Bob," was captured at a military roadblock on Monday.

"Right now we have no information that that's true," said Colonel Jay DeFrank, a Pentagon spokesman.
