The letter, signed by 16 representatives, expressed concern about "disturbing and serious questions about the credibility of the information your administration presented to the Congress and the American public about the nature and scope of Iraqi weapons of mass destruction."
Lawmakers said they were also worried about possible "manipulation or exaggeration of intelligence."
The letter was drafted by Massachusetts Representative Ed Markey and signed by 15 other Democratic lawmakers, all of whom had voted to authorize use of force by the United States against Baghdad, after being convinced of an imminent threat posed by alleged Iraqi weapons of mass destruction.
