Pentagon number two touring Iraq

 US Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz arrived in Baghdad Thursday to tour the country coalition forces are struggling to rebuild.

"He's here in country," said military spokesman Captain Jeff Fitzgibbons late Thursday, giving no further details.

In the countdown to the spring war on Saddam Hussein, Wolfowitz argued that creating democracy in Iraq would help liberalise the rest of the Middle East and spur progress in the Israeli-Arab peace process.
