Embattled British PM Blair vows to stay in office
LONDON (AFP) Jul 20, 2003
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Sunday that he "absolutely" intended to remain in office despite the crisis sparked by the death of an arms expert at the centre of a row over a government dossier used to justify war in Iraq.

"Obviously I believe that I'm doing the right thing for the country otherwise I wouldn't be doing the job," Blair said in an interview with Sky News during an East Asia tour.

"I have been through quite a few times when people have said, this is a terrible situation and all the rest of it. It depends on whether you believe in what you are doing."

Asked directly if he had the appetite to go on Blair replied: "Absolutely."
