British PM defends government in dead scientist affair: Sky News
LONDON (AFP) Jul 22, 2003
British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Tuesday his government acted properly in the affair of David Kelly, an arms expert who apparently killed himself after being caught in a row about an official dossier used to justify war in Iraq, Sky News reported.

Blair also denied authorising the identification of Kelly, a defence ministry consultant, as the source for a highly controversial BBC story that Downing Street "sexed up" a dossier on Iraq's weapons, Britain's Press Association added.

Blair was speaking on a flight from Shanghai to Hong Kong, during his tour of East Asia, the British domestic news agency added.
