EADS posts net loss of 66 mln euro in first half 2003

EADS, the world's second-largest aerospace and defence company, reported Friday a net loss of 66 million euros (76 million dollars) in the first six months of 2003.

The European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. (EADS) had posted a net profit of 91 million euros in the same period in 2002.

Earnings before tax and interest (EBIT) plunged 24 percent to 592 million euros compared with a year ago.

The company said it saw EBIT and sales for the full year 2003 at the same level as last year.
