Armed Philippines rebels return to barracks
MANILA (AFP) Jul 27, 2003
Nearly 300 military rebels boarded trucks late Sunday to return to barracks, their 20-hour stand-off with Philippines President Gloria Arroyo and siege of the Makati financial district over, witnesses said.

The soldiers, still carrying their assault rifles, crates of high explosives and huge rucksacks, filed out from the Oakwood serviced apartments shortly before midnight (1600 GMT) under the watchful eyes of military police and boarded seven trucks for the short ride to Fort Bonifacio.
