Britain's defence military awards huge jet contract to BAE

Britain's Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract for new jet trainers worth up to 800 million pounds (1.2 billion euros, 1.3 billion dollars) to British firm BAE Systems, it announced on Wednesday.

The order for 20 Hawk 128 jets, with an option for up to 24 more, safeguards hundreds of jobs at BAE Systems.
