Bush "confident" truth will emerge about Iraq's weapons
WASHINGTON (AFP) Jul 30, 2003
US President George W. Bush on Wednesday declared that the truth about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program will eventually be known.

"I'm confident the truth will come out," Bush told reporters in the White House Rose Garden.

"And there is no doubt in my mind that Saddam Hussein was a threat to the United States' security and a threat to peace in the region," Bush added, noting that "a free Iraq will help change the habits of other nations in the region, which will make America much more secure."

Washington used Baghdad's alleged weapons of mass destruction program as a primary justification for the war that ousted Saddam.
