TAYR HARFA, Lebanon (AFP) Aug 10, 2003
Israel on Sunday carried out an air strike near the village of Tayr Harfa in south Lebanon, after an Israeli was killed in cross-border fire from the Hezbollah militia, Lebanese police said.

"Two Israeli planes at 4:30 pm (1330 GMT) fired two missiles at a hill in Tayr Harfa," near the coastal town of Naqura close to the border, a police officer told AFP, without giving details.

Israeli military sources said helicopters carried out the raid and destroyed the gun used by fighters of the Shiite radical militia Hezbollah to fire the deadly shells.
