MONROVIA (AFP) Aug 16, 2003 A contingent of 110 Nigerian troops arrived in Monrovia on Saturday to reinforce a west African peacekeeping force deployed in the war-ravaged country, according to an AFP reporter.
The forces arrived on a UN plane which also brought in 12 armoured cars.
"The men will deployed into town immediately," Captain Oryema Kanu, the spokesman for the newly arrived contingent, told AFP.
