- US wounded -

The Pentagon said that about 140 US military personnel have been wounded in attacks in the Iran war.

The figure comes on top of the death of seven US service members early in the conflict already given by the US military.

- Hormuz confusion -

The United States' energy secretary deleted a video on X in which he said the US Navy had escorted an oil tanker through the Strait of Hormuz. The White House later stated the US Navy had not escorted any tankers through the strategic Gulf passage.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said no US Navy vessel has "dared" approach the strait, which they have virtually closed in retaliation for US-Israeli strikes that killed the country's supreme leader.

- No ceasefire -

The speaker of Iran's parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said on social media "we aren't seeking a ceasefire" and declared the United States and Israel must be "taught a lesson that will deter them from attacking Iran again".

- Tehran blasts -

AFP journalists heard three explosions in the Iranian capital Tehran on Tuesday evening. There was no immediate information on the intended targets.

- Iran launches new strikes -

Iran launched a new salvo of missiles at Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and US targets in the region, the Revolutionary Guards said.

- IEA emergency meeting -

International Energy Agency member countries met for crisis talks to assess security of oil supply and the potential release of emergency stocks as the Middle East war roils markets, the body's chief said.

- Ukraine drone experts -

Ukrainian military experts in drone defence will go to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia this week as the Gulf countries fend off Iranian attacks, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.

- Hacked cameras -

Israel's cybersecurity directorate said it had identified "dozens of Iranian breaches into security cameras for espionage purposes" since the start of the war and urged the public to update their passwords and software.

- Iran arrests alleged spies -

Iran's intelligence ministry announced the arrests of 30 people accused of spying "on behalf of two Persian Gulf countries in the name of the American-Zionist enemy".

Those arrested included one foreigner, whose nationality was not revealed.

- Diplomats said killed -

Iran accused Israel of killing four of its diplomats in a weekend strike on a hotel in Beirut, according to a letter addressed to the United Nations chief.

- Major refinery shut -

One of the world's biggest oil refineries, the Ruwais facility in the United Arab Emirates, halted operations as a "precaution" following a drone attack on the industrial complex housing it, a source told AFP.

- 'Catastrophic' -

Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco warned the Middle East war could have "catastrophic consequences" on oil markets, and called for reopening the Strait of Hormuz -- which normally carries about 20 percent of global oil supplies but has been closed by the conflict.

- Putin urges 'de-escalation' -

Russian President Vladimir Putin called for "de-escalation" of the Iran conflict in a phone call with Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian, the Kremlin said.

"Pezeshkian thanked Russia for its support, particularly for providing humanitarian aid to Iran," the Kremlin added, confirming Moscow had sent assistance to its ally Tehran.

- Embassy evacuations -

Denmark and the Netherlands announced they were relocating their embassy staff in Tehran to Azerbaijan.

- Talks 'not on agenda' -

Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, told US broadcaster PBS news that "I don't think talking with the Americans would be on our agenda anymore", adding that Tehran had a "very bitter experience" during previous negotiations.

- 'Not done yet' -

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the offensive against Iran was "not done yet".

"Our aspiration is to bring the Iranian people to cast off the yoke of tyranny; ultimately, it depends on them. But there is no doubt that with the actions taken so far, we are breaking their bones -- and we are not done yet".
