SET Associates Tuesday completed its acquisition of ImageCorp for an undisclosed amount of cash. ImageCorp, a leading member of the video and image processing research community, complements SET's growing presence in commercial and defense security markets, and enhances the company's position as a leading developer of integrated video and radar security systems. ImageCorp, which specializes in the development of innovative video and image processing solutions for the Department of Defense and U.S. Government agencies, joins SET's Advanced Technology business unit, where it will continue to operate out of its Greenbelt, MD office located near the University of Maryland. "As a small business intent on developing advanced multisensor systems and technologies for customers with challenging physical security needs, we're excited by the skills, experience, and intellectual property ImageCorp brings to our Advanced Technology team," said Dr. Bob Douglass, SET Associates' CTO and Vice President of Advanced Technology. "ImageCorp has years of demonstrated experience developing advanced image and video threat detection and tracking technologies. We're very pleased to join the SET Associates team," said Dr. Rama Chellappa, President of ImageCorp. SET Associates develops technology-driven solutions for challenging physical security problems, including a patent pending system for remotely detecting suicide bombers. Combining SET's radar technology and system engineering experience with ImageCorps' video and image processing technology expertise will yield a powerful new generation of multisensor products to counter the growing number of deadly security threats faced by homeland security and defense customers. |
