Andover MA (SPX) Jan 11, 2005
Dynamics Research announced Monday that the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) awarded DRC a cost plus fixed fee contract for continuous improvement services to improve MDA's supply chain performance. DRC's potential revenue under this contract is $25 million.

The period of performance, including options, will continue through January 2008. The goal of this project is to achieve measurable enterprise-wide performance improvements at MDA suppliers through application of Continuous Improvement (CI) tools and techniques.

The effort will employ supplier metrics to ensure that the resultant efforts will have a positive impact on Ballistic Missile Defense Systems (BDMS) products and customers.

"DRC is pleased to have been selected by the Missile Defense Agency to provide a mission-critical role in the revitalization of its entire BDMS supply chain," said William C. Hoover, DRC president and chief operating officer.

"This contract further confirms DRC's ability to provide wide- ranging, strategic services to government organizations and their partners for enhanced operational efficiency and performance."

The Office of Naval Research sponsored the initial development of the CI tools and techniques and several significant deployment initiatives in Navy supply chains.

To date, DRC and its team members have achieved successful results with 37 defense suppliers including delivery/cycle and quality improvement, inventory reduction and cost avoidance/reduction on pricing and contracts.
