New Globalstar Solution Helps Speed Up Internet Connection

Milpitas CA (SPX) Jun 01, 2005
Globalstar announced Monday the release of its Express Data service. Express Data is a subscription-based service that allows users to send email, transfer files and browse the Internet more quickly and efficiently over the Globalstar network.

Express Data is ideal for customers searching for faster satellite data speeds that will allow them to be even more productive from remote areas. The service is available anywhere there is a Globalstar satellite connection, enabling access from remote jobsites and work environments beyond cellular and landline coverage.

For ease of use, Express Data is compatible with many existing web-based email systems like Hotmail and Yahoo Mail to POP3, SMTP and IMAP based email systems such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express and Microsoft Exchange.

Additionally, email attachments including Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and others will also be accelerated.

"Express data allows our users the increased flexibility to meet new-world communication demands regardless of where they are in the Globalstar network. Additionally, with the compatibility of our service with existing software applications, users will find it easy to access critical data at any time," said Dennis Allen, Senior Vice President, Globalstar LLC.

"The Express Data service is another example of our commitment to provide superior service throughout our worldwide network to meet the needs of our growing customer base."

As an added benefit to customers, higher end plans now include a free subscription for Express Data. A charge of $9.95 per month will be charged to customers on all other price plans.

Customers with the Globalstar GSP-1600 Handheld Phone or GSP-2900 Fixed Phone, a Globalstar Data Kit or Globalstar Vehicle Kit, will be able to benefit from the accelerated data connectivity of the Express Data service.
