"We're working, patiently and step-by-step, to lower the cost of spaceflight so that many people can afford to go and so that we humans can better continue exploring the solar system," Bezos wrote.

"Accomplishing this mission will take a long time, and we're working on it methodically. Slow and steady is the way to achieve results, and we do not kid ourselves into thinking this will get easier as we go along."

Bezos included photos and a video clip of a November test flight of a Goddard rocket in Texas. An Amazon web service was used to create the visual presentation.

The video shows a dome-shaped rocket rising several hundred feet straight into the air and then easing back to the ground.

The launch was the program's premier space craft and the goal was to build a New Shepard vertical take-off and landing vehicle capable of taking several astronauts into orbit, according to Bezos.

Blue Origin is actively hiring, particularly propulsion or turbo-machinery engineers, according to Bezos.

Bezos wrote that Blue Origin "wants to hire you, assuming you're a hard-working, technically-gifted, team-oriented, experienced aerospace engineer or engineering leader."
