CSRA to provide U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency IT support

CSRA Inc. has received a $167 million U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency task order award to provide enterprise IT support services, the company said Wednesday.

The deal has a one-year base period and 4 1/2 option years, CSRA said in a statement.

As part of the program, CSRA will oversee the Enterprise Service Operations Center, or ESOC, a network of self-help knowledge portals, remote service desk support and in-field customer engagement support for the Defense Department Intelligence Information Systems' global customers.

The deal also involves CSRA consolidating and standardizing remote and in-field customer support at the enterprise level.

Work on the contract will be undertaken at different company and government locations worldwide.

Safran announces Silicon Valley expansion
Redwood City, Calif. (UPI) Oct 26, 2016 - Safran Identity & Security announced this week that it will open a location in Silicon Valley by the end of 2016.

The facility will be located in Redwood City, Calif., a location the company says will be strategically positioned near the Silicon Valley and San Francisco tech communities, the company said in a statement.

The expansion will inlcude an innovation center focused on digital payment, digital identity and the Internet of Things.

Visitors can interact with Safran's hardware and software products and see how the company is providing digital transformation across various areas, featuring biometric identification and authentication technologies that include fingerprint, facial recognition and iris biometric sensors, as well as cloud-based solutions and mobile device software development kits.

Safran, a French company, said the expansion is the next step in the company's technology work.
