DataPath announced that it has completed its acquisition of SWE-DISH Satellite Systems AB, a Stockholm-based, global leader in the design and manufacture of portable and transportable satellite communications (SATCOM) systems. SWE-DISH's customers include U.S. military organizations; German, British, Japanese and Swedish defense ministries; and leading global broadcasters.

SWE-DISH is known for its innovative, reliable line of SATCOM systems with antenna sizes of 1.5 meters and below. This line includes Suitcase terminals -- a class of small satellite terminals pioneered by SWE-DISH -- and Drive-Away (vehicle-mounted) and Fly-Away systems.

Its products complement DataPath's portfolio offer, which includes: rugged, dependable terminals that range from Fly-Aways to Teleports; MaxView network control software; wireless and baseband products; and field engineering services. Through the acquisition, DataPath also gains the ability to reach new customers in military, civilian government and broadcast markets in the United States, Europe and around the world.

SWE-DISH will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of DataPath, and will retain its management team, corporate name and product brands. SWE-DISH will continue to serve its U.S.-based customers from its sales and service facility in Reston, Va.
