Industrial Accessories Company (IAC), in conjunction with their wholly-owned construction subsidiary, Adelphi Construction, LC, provided Design Build services for a Midwest Farmer's Cooperative, $6.6 million, 100,000 ton-per-year biomass pellet plant.

The plant processes various agricultural and wood waste by-products into alternative fuel pellets - packaged in 40 pound bags for the growing pellet stove market, or loaded out in bulk to a nearby utility for co-firing with coal. The utility company will receive carbon credits for using the biomass fuel pellets.

As the EPC contractor, IAC implemented its in-house engineering, design, procurement, and project management teams for the fast-track project. Construction was managed by Adelphi Construction, LC, who provided the substantial labor source.

Adelphi employed their own select crews, who had just come off of four ethanol plant build jobs, as well as local sub-contractors, in an effort to aid the local economy.

In addition to the compliment of air pollution control equipment, IAC designed and fabricated all of the structural steel, galvanized steel access components, mating transitions and spouting from IAC's Kansas City, MO fabrication facility.

As a pre-engineered metal building and metal storage silo dealer, IAC was able to offer both a complete and competitive package to our client.

IAC is proud to contribute to America's energy independence.
