France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications has developed a tailored offering for BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network) covering airtime, terminals, value-added services and applications, designed to provide end-users and distributors with the most complete broadband mobile satellite solution on the market.

To put in place its broadband mobile satellite strategy, France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications has leveraged three main assets. Drawing on its experience in IP over satellite, the service operator has enhanced and fine-tuned its IP platform to deliver a unique range of additional services and features for BGAN.

This development has been carried out in close cooperation with Inmarsat, which selected France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications as primary test partner in 2004 to prepare the run-up to the official launch.

Secondly, close partnerships with approximately 100 distributors in key locations worldwide will provide France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications with a strong sales force with in-depth knowledge of broadband mobile satellite needs in local markets.
