Ikaros Solar and Esdec BV Join Forces

Schoten, Belgium (SPX) Feb 18, 2015

FlatFix Fusion is a revolutionary and lightweight flat roof mounting system for solar panels that can be built up in different ways in order to get an optimal solution for any flat roof.

As of 2015 Ikaros Solar Group and Esdec BV will cooperate even more intensely. For this purpose a Multi-Megawatt contract for the delivery of FlatFix Fusion mounting systems was signed at the end of 2014. Ikaros Solar has already used the Esdec mounting systems for many years. The systems to be delivered under the new agreement will be used for various international Ikaros Solar projects.

Last year, Ikaros Solar installed a large PV system for Ikea Zwolle, the Netherlands, using the FlatFix Fusion mounting system. Ikaros Solar has implemented various leading projects with the use of the FlatFix Fusion mounting system, including the new Flemish Red Cross headquarters in Mechelen, Belgium.

"We have chosen Esdec's FlatFix Fusion because the system can be installed quickly and simply, which means labour costs can be substantially reduced without compromising quality. Ikaros Solar, market leader in the Benelux, expects to gain a large market share in the Dutch large industrial roofs market, within the framework of the Stimulation of Renewable Energy grants, by receiving orders from both project developers and owners of buildings. The use of Dutch products with a product guarantee of 20 years is an additional means of gaining the trust of the customers," states Sven Goethals, Sales and Marketing Director Ikaros Solar.

FlatFix Fusion is a revolutionary and lightweight flat roof mounting system for solar panels that can be built up in different ways in order to get an optimal solution for any flat roof.

The system is designed for quick and easy mounting of solar panels on the flat roof using only a small number of components. The main components are linked to each other by means of smart click-joints. You only need one tool to mount the solar panels. This drastically reduces the time required for installation of the PV system without compromising on the quality.

The FlatFix Fusion system can be used for almost all flat roofs. The aerodynamic design allows quick and easy placement of both large and small systems with minimum ballast. The unique system can be used to build up a classic South setup as well as an East-West or North-South setup using the same components.

Synthesized material enables plasmonic devices in mid-infrared range
Raleigh NC (SPX) Feb 17, 2015
A research team led by North Carolina State University has identified and synthesized a material that can be used to create efficient plasmonic devices that respond to light in the mid-infrared (IR) range. This is the first time anyone has demonstrated a material that performs efficiently in response to this light range, and it has applications in fields ranging from high-speed computers, to sol ... read more
