Ft. Lauderdale FL (SPX) Aug 22, 2007 Northrop Grumman will highlight information technology (IT) and communications solutions for the defense industry this week at LandWarNet 2007. Northrop Grumman will exhibit its secure wireless solution MobileShield. MobileShield delivers fully secure, high-speed, Internet protocol-based wireless solutions that facilitate the convergence of data, voice and video onto one network. It also ensures full interoperability across disparate communications systems. The solution enables situational awareness for military base security, infrastructure protection, geospatial information management and mobile asset management. The company will display its Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) Dashboard, an efficient method of consolidating information from distributed sources. Using Enterprise Services Bus technology to transport information, the dashboard can tailor decision-making information from disparate and distributed data sources for applications such as financial, contract and network management. Northrop Grumman is the prime contractor for the Defense Knowledge Online (DKO) portal, which leverages the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) solution. The company will demonstrate the capabilities of this single enterprise service portal, serving as the entry point for all U.S. Department of Defense and authorized users to access Defense Department and government intranets supporting operations, missions and critical support processes for U.S. military forces worldwide. DKO and AKO provide relevant information and applications to the warfighter and other government users through a secure service-oriented framework to help them perform their missions more effectively. Northrop Grumman is also supporting the U.S. Army's transformational efforts with its IT infrastructure on the Information Technology Enterprise Solutions 2 Services (ITES-2S) program. ITES-2S provides the Army with a full range of IT services and solutions to support enterprise infrastructure goals worldwide, including command, control, communications, computers, and information management.
