Quantum Connections Offers Satellite Broadband To Michigan And Indiana![]() illustration only |
As recognized by such entities as the Michigan Broadband Development Authority, and the Indiana Economic Development Council, an overwhelming amount of rural residents in Michigan and Indiana are left with dial-up as their only option for Internet access.
As of today, Quantum joins the efforts in reducing the "rural digital divide" by offering its satellite high-speed Internet solution, Q-Sat, which is 10-20 times faster than dial-up. With Q-Sat, residents and small businesses can surf at speeds of up to 400kpbs, which is comparable with the DSL and Cable services offered in urban areas.
These speeds enable faster downloads of streaming video, pictures, music and large files. The high-speed Internet service will be offered for $59.95 a month, and $59.95 (one-time) for installation and equipment.
"At Quantum Connections, we pride ourselves on offering cutting edge solutions that also help better the communities we serve. High-speed Internet access is integral to a community's development. A significant amount of rural residents in our area want broadband, but can't get it. Our solution is for that teacher, student, or small business owner, for example, who needs a connection faster than dial-up," explains Fred A. Pieplow, COO at Quantum Connections.
"Our aggressive pricing is for these same residents. It is one thing to simply offer a solution; it's another to offer it at realistic pricing."
