REC Solar Expanding Rapidly in US East Coast Markets
by Staff Writers
San Luis Obispo CA (SPX) Jun 20, 2011

-

REC Solar has announced the company's accelerated momentum as it gains traction with East Coast commercial and residential consumers in new solar hot spots. By the middle of this year, the company will reach 4.1 megawatts of installed commercial projects and boast several marquee installations with major retailers in the pipeline.

As one of the fastest growing installers in the United States, topping the California Solar Initiative rankings as the state's largest residential installer in 2010 for megawatts installed, REC Solar brings its East Coast customers the experience and expertise of one of the oldest and largest solar companies in the country.

Through its New Jersey office in Somerset, REC Solar services residential customers throughout the state and commercial customers in the Northeast, bringing its total number of offices to more than a dozen in six states.

"REC Solar's goal has always been to bring solar into the mainstream, and our expertise in other states like Hawaii, California, Colorado and Arizona guides our East Coast expansion," said Angiolo Laviziano, CEO of REC Solar.

"As solar continues to become cost competitive with traditional energy sources, commercial and residential consumers in new markets across the northeast will benefit from our guidance."

With an increased number of partnerships with leading consumer brands such as IKEA and Harris Tea, REC Solar is well positioned as the solar integrator of choice for consumer marketers. Paramus and Moorestown, NJ and Stoughton, MA, are the most recent sites to showcase large commercial solar installations developed by REC Solar. A ribbon-cutting event is scheduled at Harris Tea in July to celebrate the unveiling of their new system.

As a solar system designer and integrator employing the latest technologies in automation, inventory management, engineering, rebate and interconnection processes, REC Solar continues to bring down the cost of residential solar and improve the return on investment for its customers. Price declines are further reduced by the company's close connection with suppliers such as SnapNrack, which co-developed new lower cost racking systems with REC Solar.

"This is an exciting time for the company as well as energy consumers in the Northeast," said David Morosoli, VP and general manager of commercial for REC Solar.

"We are glad to be a part of the rapid pace of solar adoption by educating customers about the affordability and lucrative returns that solar energy can deliver to their business."
