Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leader in space infrastructure development, has been awarded a $45,469,600 five-year contract by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate. The contract, funded incrementally, focuses on designing, developing, and testing advanced prototype technologies to enhance mission-critical capabilities for national defense.

The initiative supports AFRL's goal of equipping the U.S. military with a range of effective, resilient, and affordable space mission solutions. Redwire's responsibilities under the contract include research and development of innovative spacecraft technologies. These efforts will cover areas such as large deployable structures, advanced thermal management systems, enhanced payload accommodations, and improved testing methodologies for both in-space and terrestrial defense applications.

Building on a previous AFRL contract, this new award underscores the continuation of Redwire's work in maturing critical space technologies from initial proof-of-concept stages to fully demonstrated prototypes ready for operational use.

The work will be conducted at Redwire's facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which specializes in developing mechanical, structural, and thermal technologies for satellite and space launch systems. Redwire's Albuquerque team has delivered several successful AFRL projects, including full-flight experiments and state-of-the-art technologies that advance the lab's objectives in national security and space innovation.
