Saab will present the mounted, very-short-range Giraffe 1X antenna at this week's Eurosatory defense expo, the company announced Tuesday.

The lightweight, compact system can be operated by a single user, the company said in a statement.

Giraffe 1X offers awareness of rockets, mortars, drones, missiles and asymmetric attacks from terrorist groups, Saab said.

The system weighs less than 440 pounds and can be transported on a pickup truck-size vehicle, a helicopter or towed on a trailer.

It can also be easily moved from a vehicle to a roof, reflecting the changing needs of mobile forces, Saab said.

The Giraffe 1X can be operated locally or remotely.

The 3D radar system monitors the air volume 360 degrees for target and can simultaneously locate and warn against other incoming rounds, Saab said.

It works with Saab's Very Short Range Air Defense System.
