Sanmina-SCI Delivers 35 Millionth Set-Top Box Unit To EchoStar

Sanmina-SCI Corp. announced Friday it has delivered the 35 millionth set-top box unit to EchoStar Technologies Corp., a subsidiary of EchoStar Communications Corp., a licensee of direct broadcast satellite television products and services.

This milestone, reached after more than a decade of mutual development and collaboration, was marked by a ceremony held at Sanmina-SCI's manufacturing operation in Guadalajara, Mexico, last week.

Sanmina-SCI has more than 18 years of manufacturing experience in Guadalajara, offering a complete array of services that include new product introduction, complete system-level build-to-order and configure-to-order manufacturing support, backplane and printed circuit board assembly, high-volume manufacturing, enclosures manufacturing and assembly, logistics and distribution, and post-manufacturing repair/warranty solutions.

Sanmina-SCI provides end-to-end manufacturing solutions primarily in the communications, defense and aerospace, industrial and medical instrumentation, multimedia and consumer, computer and server, and automotive technology sectors.

EchoStar serves more than 12.2 million satellite TV customers through its DISH Network provider of digital television services in the United States.
