Ursa Major to Provide Advanced Chemical Propulsion for Tactical Satellite Bus Systems

Ursa Major has secured a multi-year contract valued between $10 million and $15 million to deliver fully integrated geostationary orbit (GEO) propulsion systems for a customer engaged in critical space operations. This agreement encompasses the design, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of a propulsion system engineered for six-degree-of-freedom maneuverability, enhancing operational flexibility in orbit.

Following successful propulsion deployments for hypersonic and defense missions in 2024, Ursa Major is applying its expertise in scalable propulsion manufacturing to facilitate broader space access. The expanding satellite industry has driven demand for advanced propulsion technologies that enhance maneuverability, mitigate collision risks, and support efficient deorbiting strategies. A key factor in responsive space operations is a resilient supply chain capable of meeting rapid mission timelines. Ursa Major addresses this need through an off-the-shelf, scalable production model designed to accelerate delivery of mission-critical propulsion capabilities.

Development and production of these in-space propulsion systems will occur at Ursa Major's Berthoud, Colorado facility, where advanced digital manufacturing techniques and vertically integrated key technologies will support rapid deployment.
