Verengo Solar is currently featured on Torrance CitiCABLE's business program Common Cents. Hosted by Renee Eng, the show throws a spotlight on local businesses that contribute to the economy and community. Torrance-based Verengo was recognized last month in Solar Power World magazine's Top 100 Contractors List and ranked #1 among the nation's solar contractors who work only in the residential market. Eng spoke at length with Verengo Solar President and Co-Founder Ken Button and Vice President of Sales Lloyd Sargeant about Verengo Solar's success and local job creation, with 400 new hires added in 2012 alone. "Solar is this amazing, exciting industry - really just starting to take off," said Button. There are over 4 million single family homes in Southern California, and only about 150,000 of them have solar power.

"The opportunity is huge, and this is just in Southern California! We're just starting to scratch the surface." "It's great to be in an industry that's growing. In this economy there aren't many," added Sargeant. "One of our corporate missions is changing the way America thinks about solar." Button said. "Right now we are right in the middle of seeing this happen." Asked about the process involved in going solar with Verengo, Sergeant replied, "You can call our toll-free number 858-529-1833 or visit www.Verengosolar.com, and you will talk to a person that will pre-qualify you. You'll be asked questions about your home; such as does your house point in the right direction, what's the pitch of the roof, and how much electricity you use monthly. These are all factors used to design a tailored system." Noting that ideal solar candidates typically have a monthly bill of $125 or higher, Button stated, "If we can't save you money, we won't take your business. "CEO Randy Bishop and I founded the company in 2008, and for us it was a business opportunity that has all the benefits of helping people save money, helping our environment, and helping our energy independence. It's all about the chance to do good and do well," Button told Common Cents.
