Veyance Technologies has received a $77 million contract from the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency for Abrams track assemblies.

The contract award is the result of a sole-source acquisition, and is expected to be complete in 2017. The work will be performed in Ohio.

The work will support Abrams tanks used by the U.S. Army. The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime, Warren, Mich. is listed as the contracting activity.

The M1 Abrams is a family of tanks used by the U.S. military and various other armed forces around the world including Saudi Arabia, Australia, and Iraq. The armored vehicle was initially designed by Chrysler Defense, but is now manufactured by General Dynamics Land Systems. It is considered one of the heaviest main battle tanks in service.
