War in the Middle East: latest developments Paris, France, April 4 (AFP) Apr 04, 2026 Here are the latest developments in the Middle East war:
Deputy governor for Khuzestan province, Valiollah Hayati, told the Fars news agency that three companies in the zone were hit, adding that it was unknown yet if there were any deaths.
The PMF -- now part of Iraq's regular army but containing pro-Iran factions -- has been repeatedly targeted since the outbreak of war on February 28.
Uralogl said there were 15 ships belonging to Turkish shipowners waiting to pass through the strait when the war started. "Two of these 15 made the crossing," he said.
The executions were the latest in a series targeting the banned People's Mujahedin of Iran (MEK), after four other group members were executed earlier in the week.
The blasts occurred at about 7:30 am (0400 GMT) and were accompanied by a loud sound from above as if coming from a drone, said AFP's correspondent in the Iranian capital
An AFP journalist heard two loud explosions in the city within a half-hour period early Saturday and saw smoke billowing from one of them. Local media reported two airstrikes on the southern suburbs.
The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said the blast occurred inside a UN facility near El Adeisse on Friday. Indonesia's government said "these events underscore the urgent need to strengthen protection for UN peacekeeping forces amid an increasingly dangerous conflict situation".
Israel's emergency services said a 45?year?old man was treated for minor injuries from glass shrapnel in the central city of Bnei Brak.
There was no immediate confirmation or denial from Washington. US media said the pilot was rescued.
The SANA agency said the man had been killed in an attack by "an Israeli tank", while state television said a car was targeted.
