Globecomm Systems Tuesday announced that the Company has introduced a new auto-explorer flyaway terminal for a broad range of Government applications.

The Auto-Explorer Multimedia Transportable Satellite Communications Terminals are suited for: a wide variety of support of military and peacekeeping forces; remote access to networks; telemedicine applications; remote distance learning; remote Internet access; or any other application where reliable, remote, rapidly deployed operation is essential.

The Auto-Explorer Terminal is a compact, self-contained, KU-band system that is readily transported, and easy to set-up and operate.

The terminal is designed to meet the performance requirements of most international and regional satellite operators. Two trained people can easily set-up the terminal in less than fifteen minutes.

All of the Auto-Explorer Terminals are Internet Protocol "IP" enabled to accept operational routers and IP satellite optimized solutions. The internal software is designed to allow operation of the terminals by personnel with little or no communications or SATCOM experience.

Ken Miller, President of Globecomm Systems, said, "We continue to build our presence in the U.S. Government and Foreign Government markets. This new Auto-Explorer flyaway product is aimed at a number of current U.S. Government requirements for ease of use in a variety of operational environments."

"The Company developed this product in less than six months with internal research and development funding, while concurrently developing a new manually pointed flyaway terminal for an international military customer."

"These flyaway terminals are used in a number of applications including logistics support and special operations. This product has a number of features, which we believe will set it apart from the competition."
