VSE Awarded Navy Ship Support Contract

VSE Corporation reported Monday that its Fleet Maintenance Division has been awarded a new multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract by the U.S. Navy. Under the contract, VSE will provide engineering and technical services to support Naval Sea Systems Command maintenance, overhaul, repair, and alteration of ship systems aboard ships.

American Superconductor Achieves Full Load Operation of 5MW Motor

$3 Million AuraGen VIPER Line Item Approved in Defense Budget

Aura Systems, Inc. has announced that an AuraGen VIPER (Vehicle Integrated Primary Electrical Resource) line item has been established in the FY05 Defense Budget which starts October 1, 2004. The U.S. Army will direct the application of $3,000,000 for acquisition of AuraGen VIPER systems. The AuraGen VIPER is the ruggedized Military version of the AuraGen Underhood Mobile Power Generator.

Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation today announced that the acquisition of Schweizer Aircraft Corporation is complete. Schweizer, based in Elmira, N.Y, is a U.S. company specializing in the light helicopter, reconnaissance aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) markets. Effective immediately, Schweizer will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sikorsky. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
