The U.S. Air Force has contracted American Systems to provide operational test and evaluation services related to fighter systems and programs.

The award, issued by the Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. is an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract worth $85 million, the Department of Defense said.

Services to be provided for fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft include a broad range of engineering, technical, and analytical test services, including integrated test functions for Air Force and multi-service fighter aircraft acquisition programs; test design; and test planning, execution, and reporting.

The company's work will be performed at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev.

The Defense Department said $2,340,704 was obligated at the time of award.

Pakistan eyes purchase of Turkish T129 helicopters
Islamabad (UPI) Jun 6, 2016 - Pakistan and Turkey are in talks for Islamabad to purchase T129 attack helicopters co-developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries, a move officials from both countries said would strengthen defense ties between the two, the Anadolu news agency reported Friday.

The news came as the newly appointed Turkish Defense Minister Fikri Isik and Khawaja Muhammad Asif, his Pakistani counterpart, met in Islamabad for talks.

Isik called a deal for the multi-role helicopter one of the most important issues between the countries.

Isik also said plans were in the works for Turkey to purchase the Pakistani-made Super Mushshak trainer aircraft.

Pakistani authorities have also requested the purchase of four Turkish Ada-class corvettes, Isik said, in a deal that would involve the ships being built in Pakistan.

Plans were also discussed for Turkey to help Pakistan's navy modernize its three Agosta-class submarines, the Anadolu report states.
