Curtiss-Wright's Defense Solutions Division recently announced the launch of the Parvus DuraCOR 8044 Modular Mission Computer Workstation, a cutting-edge solution designed to address the demanding requirements of civil and military tactical processing applications. This latest addition to their rugged small form factor (SFF) mission computer lineup is engineered to deliver multi-core workstation-class compute power within a compact, resilient package suitable for deployment in even the most challenging environments.

The Parvus DuraCOR 8044 distinguishes itself through a sealed, fanless IP67-compliant design, ensuring reliability and durability in harsh conditions. At the core of this robust mission computer is an 11th gen Intel Xeon W (Tiger Lake-H) processor, which boasts eight cores and 16 threads, making it one of the most potent compute engines available in the SFF mission computer market. This processor enables the DuraCOR 8044 to handle compute-intensive tasks with ease, providing critical support for applications requiring high-performance computing in space and weight-constrained settings.

Brian Perry, Senior Vice President, and General Manager at Curtiss-Wright's Defense Solutions Division, highlighted the significance of this launch, stating, "The introduction of the Parvus DuraCOR 8044 furthers our commitment to being the industry's leading supplier of trusted and secure, highly rugged small form factor mission computers." He further emphasized the unit's ITAR-free status and its compliance with U.S. Commerce EAR controls, underscoring its accessibility for a wide range of international projects.

The DuraCOR 8044 is designed to meet or exceed stringent military and aerospace environmental standards, including MIL-810G and DO-160G. Weighing only 5.6 lb and with compact dimensions, it integrates powerful Intel Iris Xe GPU capabilities for graphics and data processing-intensive applications. This includes support for OpenGL and OpenCL, catering to the needs of graphics-intensive and GPGPU-accelerated data processing applications, respectively.

Furthermore, the unit is built with cybersecurity at its forefront, incorporating a zero-trust architecture. It supports a plethora of trusted computing features such as Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0, UEFI Secure Boot, and Intel Boot Guard, among others. These features ensure that the system operates securely, executing only trusted and signed BIOS and software.

The DuraCOR 8044's adaptability extends to a wide array of applications and platforms, from in-vehicle and maritime to airborne mission computing across both manned and unmanned systems. Its design facilitates easy integration of additional I/O and storage capabilities, supported by a modular chassis design and pre-integrated DTL-38999 connectors for seamless I/O integration.

This mission computer represents a significant leap forward in providing high-performance, secure, and rugged computing solutions for demanding applications. Its blend of compact size, computing power, and robust security features make it an ideal choice for a variety of civil and military applications, including tactical ground vehicles, fixed and rotary wing aircraft, and maritime platforms.

Curtiss-Wright's Defense Solutions Division continues to set the benchmark for innovation and reliability in the defense technology sector with the Parvus DuraCOR 8044, reinforcing its position as a leader in the development of small form factor mission computers that meet the evolving needs of modern military and civil applications.
