Lockheed Martin Aeronautics has received a $21.6 million U.S. Air Force contract modification for work on the F-22 Raptor heads-up display.

The modification to the previously awarded contract will incorporate an engineering change proposal for diminishing manufacturing source and material shortage for the Raptor heads-up display cathode ray tube mitigation to the digital light engine alternative.

Work will be performed in Texas and is expected to be completed by February 2019.

The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center is the contracting activity.

The Raptor is the service's newest fighter that offers a combination of stealth, supercruise, maneuverability and integrated avionics, coupled with improved supportability.

It features a sophisticated sensor suite allowing a pilot to track, identify, shoot and kill air-to-air threats before being detected.
