NOVI, a leader in space-edge technology, has introduced STORM (Space-edge Technology for Orbital Real-time Monitoring), a major advancement in satellite data processing. This new platform is designed to change how satellite intelligence is processed and utilized in real-time.

STORM is set to enable industries, analytics companies, researchers, and developers to access satellite-based data directly from space. By processing and analyzing data in-orbit, STORM will cut down on costs and latency, providing critical intelligence faster, which is essential for industries that rely on timely decision-making.

With the increasing demand for Earth Observation (EO) data, STORM allows users to develop and test edge-processing algorithms on NOVI's multi-sensor satellites, slated for launch in the next 18 months. This will reshape real-time, autonomous decision-making in space.

"STORM enables satellites to process data in real-time without the need to constantly downlink large amounts of raw imagery to Earth, unlocking massive efficiencies for space-sensor usage and autonomy," explained Michael Bartholomeusz, CEO of NOVI. "Our goal is to open access to space-derived intelligence, providing lower costs and latency, which will stimulate the creation of new applications and innovation across multiple sectors."

Join the STORM Beta Program
NOVI is inviting enterprises and developers to participate in the STORM Beta Program, where selected users will collaborate with the company on edge-processing use-cases. Beta participants will help refine this cutting-edge platform and apply it to key tasks in relevant sectors.

STORM's applications span across agriculture, defense, energy, environmental monitoring, disaster response, and more. By significantly reducing the cost of space-based intelligence, STORM aims to make this valuable resource accessible to a broader range of industries and developers, fueling innovation and the development of transformative new applications.
