Radiation levels briefly rose after Russia military base explosion: city hall Moscow, Aug 8 (AFP) Aug 08, 2019 Radiation levels in the Russian far northern city of Severodvinsk rose temporarily after a blast on Thursday at a nearby missile test site, the city's authorities said. Automatic radiation detection sensors in the city at 11:50 am (0850 GMT) "recorded a brief rise in radiation levels. Currently the levels have normalised," the city authorities said on its official website. The defence ministry said earlier that radiation levels were normal after the explosion at the base in the Arkhangelsk region that killed two.
