Israel military denies firing on Gazans waiting for aid
Jerusalem, March 23 (AFP) Mar 23, 2024
The Israeli military denied a report by the health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza Saturday that troops had fired on an aid queue as Hamas said the death toll had risen to 19.

"The reports claiming that the (Israeli military) attacked dozens of Gazans at an aid convoy are incorrect," the military said in a statement.

"Preliminary findings have determined that there was no aerial strike against the convoy, nor were there incidents found of (Israeli) forces firing at the people at the aid convoy."

The health ministry in Hamas-run Gaza reported an initial death toll of nine, and the Hamas press office later issued a statement raising it to 19.
