Russian army says fighting Ukrainian border incursion for fifth day

Russia's army on Saturday confirmed it was still fighting off Ukrainian troops in its western Kursk region, five days after Kyiv's forces launched a shock border incursion.

"The armed forces continue to repel the Ukrainian armed forces' attempted border incursion," Russia's defence ministry said, stating it had used aviation and artillery fire to hit Ukrainian troops and military equipment inside Russian territory.
