Aptos Orbital, a leading developer of AI solutions for satellites, has officially launched its new platform designed to revolutionize satellite intelligence and communication. The Aptos terminal, a low size weight and power (SWAP) device, integrates space-hardened processing, cloud services, and connectivity into a single solution. With Aptos's innovative technology, satellites can now run advanced artificial intelligence (AI) in orbit and transmit real-time data directly to Earth.

"Today's satellites are siloed from modern cloud environments, hampered by the lack of onboard compute power, and have multi-hour coverage gaps. At Aptos Orbital, we are changing that," said Yonatan Winetruab, founder of Aptos. "Our goal is to make satellites as intelligent and accessible as any computer on Earth. By putting AI onboard, we can process live satellite data at the source and transmit the processed, actionable information back to Earth."

Traditionally, satellites rely on ground stations for communication, often leaving them inaccessible for hours. Aptos overcomes these limitations by enabling continuous connectivity, regardless of weather or location, without requiring communication operations. The company's onboard computing capabilities allow satellites to process critical data in orbit, and with cloud connectivity, customers can interact with their satellites in space as seamlessly as they would with computers on Earth. Aptos' terminals also extend cloud services to satellites, turning them into agile nodes for Earth-based networks.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been announced as the exclusive cloud service partner for Aptos Orbital's hardware. This partnership brings advanced cloud computing to space, opening doors for innovation across various industries.

With over five years of flight heritage, Aptos Orbital's terminals have already proven their reliability in space. From design to operational deployment within six months, the company has launched multiple units, with dozens more scheduled for launch this year. Aptos has secured commitments from eight customers, totaling more than $100 million. ThinkOrbital and other top satellite operators are among its clients.

Looking to the future, Aptos plans to build a constellation of over 1,000 satellites by 2030. This expanding network aims to provide seamless connectivity for satellite operators and allow developers on Earth to harness the full potential of satellite data.
