France to restore voluntary military service, says Macron
Varces-Allieres-Et-Risset, France (AFP) Nov 27, 2025 France will introduce a voluntary military service of 10 months beginning next year, President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday, in the face of what it views as a growing threat posed by Russia. Jordan parliament passes law reinstating conscription
Amman (AFP) Nov 17, 2025 Jordan's parliament on Monday voted in favour of a law reinstating conscription for men from early next year, decades after compulsory military service ended, state media reported.
