The latest round of Iranian missile fire caused explosions across Tel Aviv and damage in central Israel on Thursday, but there were no reported casualties and residents have been cleared to leave shelters. Iran's state broadcaster reported that Tehran had fired missiles "against targets in the heart of Tel Aviv," after Israel's military said it was working to intercept incoming Iranian fire.
AFP journalists in Tel Aviv reported two near simultaneous waves of explosions reverberate across the city.
After the barrage, Israel's emergency services, the Magen David Adom, said its teams had visited several impacted sites but reported no casualties.
Israeli police said it was "currently handling scenes involving fallen projectiles in central Israel," adding that "damage has been caused," but also reporting no injuries.
The military has released a statement clearing people "to leave protected spaces."
