Quantum timing and sensing partnership set to reshape space infrastructure

Voyager Technologies and Infleqtion have formed a strategic partnership to deploy dual-use quantum technology in low-Earth orbit and beyond. The initiative aims to transfer quantum utility from laboratory environments to operational space applications, beginning with the integration of Infleqtion's Tiqker Quantum atomic clock aboard the International Space Station and later on the Starlab platform.

By adding a high-precision, secure time source in orbit, the collaboration seeks to enhance commercial and national security missions by supporting autonomous spacecraft coordination and secure constellation communications. The new timekeeping capability is expected to play a role in programs such as Golden Dome.

Infleqtion's CEO, Matthew Kinsella, stated, "The advantages of quantum technology multiply in space." He explained that advanced timing and sensing improve navigation, enable new forms of communication, and increase infrastructure resilience. The partnership will demonstrate how quantum timing improves the reliability, scalability, and security of space infrastructure.

Infleqtion's technologies have contributed to NASA's Cold Atom Lab on the ISS and will now extend quantum capabilities to commercial applications in data, navigation, and sensing. The agreement marks a concrete step toward building operational quantum infrastructure in orbit.
